Boxing’s youngest world champion, 22-year-old Abdullah Mason (20-0, 17 KOs), will defend his WBO lightweight title in front of a hometown crowd at Cleveland’s Wolstein Center on Saturday, July 4, the 250th anniversary of American Independence Day. His opponent is last-minute replacement Albert Bell (28-9, 9 KOs).
Abdullah Mason became the youngest reigning champion after defeating Sam Noakes in a close fight last November in what was one of the best fights of 2025. Now, Mason returns to his hometown for a big, high-stakes fight against another exciting fighter.
Albert Bell replaces Joe Cordina, who was forced to pull out of the fight due to visa issues in England. Now, Bell, who was scheduled to face Andy Cruz on a DAZN card on July 18, has a chance to win the championship gold medal.
In the co-main event, Bruce Carrington will defend his WBC featherweight title against undefeated contender Rene Palacios, while Tiger Johnson will face another undefeated welterweight, Christopher Guerrero.
