On Saturday, May 23, undisputed heavyweight king Oleksandr Usyk and kickboxing legend Rico Verhoeven will face off in a historic crossover bout in front of the Great Pyramids of Giza in Egypt.

Oleksandr Usyk is willing to defend his title against Rico Verhoeven, the longtime Glory heavyweight kickboxing champion. This will be only the second professional boxing match of his career.

Oleksandr Usyk comes into this fight with a 24-0 undefeated record and 15 knockouts, while Rico Verhoeven has a professional boxing record of 1-0 and 1 knockout.

Oleksandr Usyk stands 6 feet 3 inches tall and has a 78-inch reach, while Rico Verhoeven stands 6 feet 5 inches tall and has a 77-inch reach, giving the challenger a clear size advantage on paper.

There is also real drama for the belt on fight night. Although the WBC sanctioned the bout as a title fight, both the IBF and WBA refused to fully stake their titles on Verhoeven. As a result, only the WBC Heavyweight Championship was officially available for the challenger to win.
